Over £10 million in research awards since 2014
Through the Surrey Health Partners’ programme, NHS clinicians and health academics across the county have created close working alliances to develop ground breaking research and apply research learning in areas of critical significance for the NHS and the clients we support.
Our Clinical Academic Teams have been successful in securing over £10 million in research awards from the National Research Councils and the European Union in our first two years, all of which is invested in research programme delivery, sharing knowledge and service transformation to benefit our patients locally and beyond Surrey’s borders.
Our research portfolio is based around the above four strategic themes that support delivery of our ‘Innovation for Health’ research strategy.
Surrey - a global force in 'innovation for health' driven by technological leadership, multi-disciplinary colloboration and state-of-the art research and clinical facilities
Surrey Health Partners is a unique and potent force for improved health service delivery due to our emphasis on technological innovation and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
World renown consultants and academics in diabetes, cancer, cardiology, mental health and human performance, pathology, critical and and peri-operative care and pain management work side by side with global leaders in bio and veterinary science. And alongside experts in non-health disciplines such as 5G, telehealth, engineering for health, big data and informatics.
These technological and clinical partnerships support clinical pathway, system and treatment reform to improve patient outcomes, the way we care for NHS service users and how we educate and train the health professionals of the future.
Our clinical academics have access to one-of-a kind research centres such as our 5G Innovation Centre. In addition, those looking to undertake clinical trials or research studies can access technology-enabled, state-of-the art research and clinical facilities. Furthermore, our researchers and authorised research partners have access to our ‘big data’ service to undertake longtitudinal studies into our resident populations and to support clinical trials using our Surrey Cohort database. See below for links to our principal research and clinical facilities.
